  • Fresh herbs – If you want to add any fresh herbs to this recipe, I suggest adding them towards the end of cooking so they keep their fresh flavor.

How Can I Thicken My Pioneer Woman Gravy Without Flour?

You can use either cornstarch or arrowroot in order to thicken your Pioneer Woman gravy. Both of them are gluten-free options. For every cup of liquid in this recipe, you should add 1 tablespoon of cornstarch to an equal part of water and then mix them together until they form a slurry. I have making this recipe for years and it is by far the best drop biscuit and sausage gravy recipe out there! If you like your gravy thicker, add another 5 minutes to the time.
